I choose this image for writing because its cute and it shows that it take your whole being to truly write something with feeling and meaning.

I like this image for body because the women in it are bare and naked without being vulgar, and they are all different sizes.

This image represents voice.

This image represents the term "woman" I think its interesting because its not a physical picture of a woman, but to me its clear what it stands for.

"Bicentennial Barbie" from Kinky

I really enjoy the poems in Kinky, I like how they personify Barbie, and go from play with Barbie, to Barbie as a person with true feelings and experiences to experiences in Denise Duhamel's life. "Bicentennial Barbie" is the best example of all of these, it begins by explaining how Barbie was placed in a time capsule due to her popularity and the fact that she is a cultural icon. The poem goes on to discuss how Barbie remembered being played with, and how Duhamel herself felt the pressures to be perfect in middle school when she won the superlative for best personality. "At least I know I'm better off than that one repressed bicentinnial Barbie who'll be stuck in that stuffy time capsule until the year 2076."I also like this poem because Duhamel shows that expression with consequences, even negative ones, is better than being forced to have your voice stiffled because of what others think of you.

"All I Could do Was Cry" Lyric

I heard church bells ring
I heard a choir singing
I saw my love walk down the aile
On her finger he placed a ring

Ooohhh I saw them holding hands
She was standing there with my man
I heard them promise til death do us part
Each word was a pain in my heart

Ooohhh all I could do
All I could do was cry (cry, cry, cry)
All I could do was cry (cry, cry, cry)
I was losing the man that I loved
And all I could do was cry

And now the wedding is over
The rice, rice has been thrown over thier heads
For them life has just begun
But mine is ending

Ooohhh all I could do
All I could do was cry (cry, cry, cry)
All I could do was cry (cry, cry, cry)
I was losing the man that I loved
And all I could do was cry
